Classes & Workshops

I teach a variety of classes including classes on raising rabbits and workshops on processing rabbits for meat. To keep updated with the current classes at Edelweiss Ranch & Rabbitry, please visit my Facebook Event Listings.
I currently offer three sets of classes:
  1. All Day Rabbit Workshop: I cover everything from getting started, why you should consider raising rabbits, raising rabbits for meat, showing, record keeping, basic genetics, how to pick out a good rabbit, etc. You'll go home with a packet full of information including custom forms.
  2. Rabbit Assessment Workshop: This is a workshop where we spend time putting hands on rabbits and learning how to assess a rabbit's type (conformation). You can bring up to two rabbits of your own and we work through assessing them together, or you can use some of my rabbits. The best way to learn good (and bad!) type is by putting hands on a rabbit.
  3. Rabbit Processing: You will first watch a demo and then I will guide you through butchering a rabbit. You get to take home the rabbit you butcher.

4-H Clubs, FFA Clubs & Rabbit Clubs

I am happy to teach any of the classes I offer to 4-H, FFA, and possibly other rabbit-related clubs (cover costs of supplies and materials such as printouts, my time is free- I make no money from my workshops). Please contact me to discuss details.

Farm Barter Faires

Edelweiss Ranch & Rabbitry hosts several free events a year. My main events right now are Farm Barter Faires, hosted two each in spring and fall. These events were created with the idea of networking among my community. PNW Farm Barter Faires usually have several events hosted at other local places each year too! The Farm Barter Faires are fun events aimed at bartering livestock, plants and farming equipment as well as networking, teaching skills and learning skills.

Please Note:

Please RSVP for any and all events and do not arrive unannounced. For more information, visit the separate website for the Farm Barter Faires or contact Gryph@EdelweissRanch.com. For directions, please visit the Directions page.
  • Please feel free to bring the entire family to events. Guests and friends are always welcome.
  • Edelweiss Ranch & Rabbitry is a working farm. This means animals (both furred and feathered), smells, and even occasionally poo will be found around the property. The barn where many of our events are hosted shares space with many of my animals.
  • It's always a wise idea to bring a change of clothes and shoes for everyone!
  • It gets chilly here! Bring a jacket- trust me on this bit of advice.
